Now hiring exceptional individuals to teach coding online

For over 7 years Creative Coding has provided best-in-class coding instruction for kids throughout the Seattle area. With schools shut down district-wide due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are actively hiring new teachers in order to meet demand for online learning. If you have a stable Internet connection and a desire to teach kids how to program from the comfort of your own home, we want to hear from you.

We hire people, not resumes. Teaching experience is nice but not required. Being a teacher means you have the patience, heart, and commitment to see your students thrive. What matters to us is a passion for learning, and an ability to help students develop that passion.

There are three firm requirements for new applicants: 1) a stable Internet connection capable of streaming video; 2) a computer capable of running Scratch 3.0, equipped with speakers, microphone, and webcam; 3) your permission to conduct a thorough background check and speak with your references—student safety is of the utmost importance to us.

Teaching experience or a desire to teach is much more important to us than coding experience. Why? Because teaching is much harder than coding. We will teach you to code, just like we teach our students. We provide paid training to improve your coding and classroom management skills. However, having an existing interest in coding and making your own projects means that you’ll provide a more authentic experience to our students, and that’s something we care about.

This is a part-time job. We have classes running on multiple days, at multiple times per day, including weekends. We pay a competitive hourly rate with significant performance-based bonuses.

The Creative Coding team is passionate, vibrant, and hardworking. We love to see our teachers grow professionally, and grow with our company. We encourage you to use your talents to enhance your role in the classroom and in the company as whole. Having good people at the heart of our company is what keeps us going and growing.

An extensive background check and references are required. The schools where we teach may require their own separate background checks or training as well. Student safety is of the utmost importance to us.
